Best Chocolate Cupcakes


I have a confession. This was my first time making a cupcake from scratch! I was super surprised at
how easy it was to make.


This is my favorite frosting recipe. Try to save enough to frost with!


Chocolate Cupcakes

Cupcake Ingredients:
1 2/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c cake flour
1 1/4 c all-purpose flour
2/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1 1/2 c milk
Frosting Ingredients:
6 T. Butter
1/2 c cocoa
2 2/3 c powdered sugar
1 1/2 t. vanilla
2 T. Milk

Directions:
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Cream your butter and sugar then add your eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Mix your remaining dry ingredients in a small bowl and alternately add a spoonful of flour and your milk to the batter. Begin and end with your dry ingredients. Fill your lined cupcake tins with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes and transfer to a cooling rack. For the frosting, beat your butter for 2 minutes. Add your vanilla and mix again. Slowly add your sugar and cocoa. Add milk until it is your desired consistency. Pipe onto cooled cupcakes.
